ok, I get that I’m supposed to be a strong, independent woman. I’m not supposed to let a man have power over how I feel about myself.
But my high school love just broke my heart.
what the fuck?
also, what’s this I hear that some of the charities that Lilith Fair proceeds will go to are CPC’s?
Come on Lilith Fair, I was so stoked you were back!
This book was my start into feminism.
Read it now if you haven’t already.

Saint Louis University doesn’t provide its students with any means of contraception and offers no education about safe sex practices. Check out what some fierce feminist are doing at SLU’s campus!
Rizzo was a feminist. She was self assured, strong, and in control of her sexuality. Perhaps somewhat rough around the edges, but never apologetic. In her song “There Are Worse Things I Could Do” Rizzo sings that she is being vilified for having sex but how is that worse then stealing or lying. She isn’t who society (Rydell High) excepts the women to be — she isn’t a slut and isn’t a prude.
Let’s hear a loud huzzah for Rizzo!

There are worse things I could do,
Than go with a boy or two.
Even though the neighborhood thinks I’m trashy,
And no good,
I suppose it could be true,
But there are worse things I could do.
I could flirt with all the guys,
Smile at them and bat my eyes.
Press against them when we dance,
Make them think they stand a chance,
Then refuse to see it through.
That’s a thing I’d never do.
I could stay home every night,
Wait around for Mr. Right.
Take cold showers every day,
And throw my life away,
On a dream that won’t come true.
I could hurt someone like me,
Out of spite or jealousy.
I dont steal and I dont lie,
But I can feel and I can cry.
A fact I’ll bet you never knew.
But to cry in front of you,
That’s the worse thing I could do.
